Host Home Model
KCS works to identify the unique needs of each individual that we serve and seeks to create a residential support model that best suits their individual situation. The Host Home model of care offers a community integrated placement within a variety of residential environments. Community Host Home Providers offer 24/7 care for up to three clients within their own home environment.
We carefully screen our HHPs and complete an extensive matching process to determine the best setting for the individuals we serve. Clients can choose to live with a single companion, couple, or family which best fits their lifestyle. KCS provides supervision and support of the host home and further offers coordination of ongoing service needs. KCS affords access to agency support for our providers and consumers at all times.
Family Caregiver Model
KCS is keenly aware of the intricate roles that family members and long standing care providers often take in our program participant’s lives. With this in mind, KCS views not only our direct agency consumers but also their natural support systems as clients of our services as well. KCS strives to work closely with family members and long-term care providers in order to provide the highest quality of care to those we serve.
Utilizing the Family Care Giver model of support, Karuna Care Services {KCS} will employ relatives who would like to provide care to their family member. This option allows the individual to reside in the family home and continue to receive comprehensive services. KCS also provides in-home, direct care employees as a supplemental resource to assist families in maintaining long-term residential services for their family member receiving comprehensive services.

Residential & Independent Living Services
At Karuna Care Services, residential support is about more than where someone lives — it's about how they live. We provide individualized residential and independent living supports that promote safety, dignity, connection, and long‑term stability, while honoring each person's goals, preferences, and level of independence.
Our services are designed to meet people where they are, whether that means living with a host family, remaining with loved ones, or building skills to live more independently in the community.
Host Home Services
Host Home services provide adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live in a supportive, family‑based environment within the community. Individuals are matched with carefully screened Host Home Providers who offer daily support, supervision, and a stable home environment.
Each placement is thoughtfully matched based on lifestyle, personality, and support needs. Individuals may live with a single provider, a couple, or a family, and may share the home with up to two other individuals, depending on the setting.
Karuna Care Services provides ongoing oversight, training, and 24/7 support to both individuals and Host Home Providers to ensure quality, safety, and long‑term success.
Family Caregiver Services
For individuals who choose to remain living with family members or long‑term caregivers, the Family Caregiver model allows loved ones to serve as paid caregivers while receiving professional support from Karuna Care Services.
This model honors existing relationships while ensuring individuals receive consistent, high-quality care. Our team partners closely with families to provide guidance, oversight, and supplemental staffing as needed to support stability and prevent caregiver burnout.
Family caregivers are never alone — Karuna Care Services remains actively involved to support both the individual and the household.
Independent Living & Supported Living Services
Karuna Care Services also supports individuals who live more independently in apartments, townhomes, or shared housing within the community.
Independent Living services are designed for individuals who do not require 24/7 supervision but benefit from structured support to maintain housing, manage daily responsibilities, and build life skills.
Supports may include:
- Skill development for daily living (meal planning, budgeting, household management)
- Support with appointments, transportation, and community engagement
- Medication reminders and wellness monitoring (as appropriate)
- Crisis support and on‑call assistance
- Coordination with families, providers, and community resources
Services are flexible and individualized, promoting autonomy while ensuring safety and connection to support.
