Tim Maxwell

Tim Maxwell is a devoted advocate and industry leader with nearly twos decade of hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Colorado. He earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work, with a specialized focus on community engagement, equipping him with a profound understanding of the complex social systems that influence the lives of individuals with IDD.

As the founder and current head of Karuna Care Services, Tim has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to providing unparalleled residential services and support for adults with IDD. Under his guidance, the agency has consistently emphasized dignity, respect, and inclusivity. In a step further towards innovation and efficiency, Tim pioneered Frisco, Inc. This groundbreaking digital care management platform revolutionizes the way Colorado Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) providers operate, enabling them to deliver more effective and personalized care.

At the heart of Tim’s work is a robust passion for enhancing community access and engagement for those with IDD. He fervently believes in the transformative power of community inclusion and constantly strives to dismantle barriers to access, aiming to foster an environment where everyone can contribute, grow, and thrive.

Destinie Vigil

Destinie Vigil is the Director of Operations at Karuna Care Services, where she oversees the day-to-day operations, ensuring the agency is operating as effectively and efficiently as possible. Her responsibilities include managing the human resources department, analyzing current policies and procedures, and implementing crucial operational strategies across the agency. With 5 years of experience working in the human services/human resources realm, Destinie has been instrumental in managing and optimizing operational processes, developing and implementing strategies to increase efficiency, and ensuring employee satisfaction and engagement efforts are in place.

Before joining Karuna Care Services, Destinie held positions at Community Reach Center, where she provided psychosocial rehabilitation services and case management to individuals seeking mental health support. She holds a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Sociology from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and has completed some master’s degree work in Criminal Justice and Public Administration from University of Colorado, Denver.

Destinie believes in a democratic and coaching leadership style. These leadership styles allow focus to remain on teamwork, collaboration and professional growth and ensure staff are all respected, informed and included in decision making. Focusing on individual and professional growth cultivates a work environment with engaged and motivated team members who have a greater commitment to the agency and to overall client services.

When not working, Destinie enjoys training in the gym and spending time with her dog, Hope. A fun fact about Destinie is she competed in her first bodybuilding show in 2023.

Jeff Near

Jeff Near is the Director of Day Services at Karuna Care Services. KCS is dedicated to supporting adults with developmental disabilities, a field Jeff has been passionate about since his college days, amounting to 16 years of experience.

Throughout his career, Jeff has had the privilege of working in various roles. He began as a Direct Support Professional, then gained experience in job coaching and job development as an Employment Specialist. Before joining KCS, he directed a day program at another company, further broadening his expertise. At KCS, he initially worked as a Residential Program Manager before transitioning to support their day program.

Jeff has been with Karuna Care Services for four years and plans to stay in this field for the entirety of his career. He is driven by the meaningful relationships he has built with both clients and coworkers. Jeff cherishes the unique perspectives that come from working in this field and takes immense pride in being part of the personal and professional growth of clients and staff.

Outside of work, Jeff is a father to an incredible six-year-old boy who constantly teaches him new things about the world. He is a lifelong baseball and Red Sox fan and enjoys bike riding, playing golf, and softball. He also loves working in his yard and finding opportunities to be creative.

Jeff is committed to making a positive impact at Karuna Care Services and is excited to continue supporting the amazing community that has been created there.

Erin Davis

Erin Davis is a seasoned Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She enjoys collaborating with a team that shares the same passion of providing individualized top-quality care, empowerment and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. She started in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2009 at the Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta, Georgia in the Severe Behavior Day Treatment Clinic for 3 years that inspired her to pursue a master’s degree and become a BCBA. She moved to Colorado in 2015 after graduating from Georgia State University with a Master of Science in educational psychology and becoming an accredited BCBA. She provided in-home ABA services as a Clinical Supervisor from 2015-2017. In 2017, she worked as the Director of Behavioral Programming at a Denver-area special education school. From 2018-2023, she was the Manager of Behavioral Services and then Director for at a Denver-area behavior company that provided lifespan services. Erin has a strong passion for working with a collaborative team to provide comprehensive services and quality care within the IDD community. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 kids, snowboarding, hiking, and enjoying the beautiful Colorado outdoors.

Tania Castillo

Tania Castillo serves as the Director of Residential Services at Karuna Care Services, bringing deep compassion, strong leadership, and a steadfast commitment to person-centered care. Since joining KCS in May 2025, Tania has become known for her ability to blend heart-driven service with high operational standards. She oversees residential programs with a focus on dignity, safety, and individualized support for every consumer.

With a background in case management and years of experience in community-based services, Tania leads her team with clarity, empathy, and a solutions-oriented mindset. She is passionate about building strong relationships with providers, families, and interdisciplinary partners, ensuring that each individual receives consistent, high-quality care.

Tania is dedicated to strengthening systems, elevating staff training, and creating a culture where both consumers and team members feel valued and supported. She believes that true care comes from listening first, honoring each person’s story, and championing services that empower individuals to thrive.

Outside of her work at KCS, Tania is a mother of four and an advocate for holistic, community-based support. She brings this same heart for people into every aspect of her leadership.

Meagan Rountree

As the Marketing and Intake Manager for Karuna Care Services, Meagan Rountree oversees all aspects of intake and marketing while building strong community relationships and supporting both client and provider onboarding. Having been with Karuna Care Services for over two years, she brings a deep understanding of the organization’s services and values to her role. Prior to stepping into her current position in October 2025, she worked as a Residential Case Manager, where she gained hands-on experience and insight into the day-to-day impact of Karuna Care Services’ work.

Before joining Karuna Care Services, Meagan spent several years working in both children’s and adult waiver services with Imagine!. She holds a degree in Speech and Audiology from the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as a degree in Craft Brewing and Beverage Promotion from Metropolitan State University of Denver. With over 16 years of experience in disability services, ranging from direct care to administrative leadership, she brings a well-rounded, person-centered perspective to everything she does. She is especially passionate about the creativity and connection her marketing role allows, and about finding innovative ways we can show up for clients, providers, families and the community.

Outside of work, Meagan enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children, and a lively collection of pets, including two dogs, two cats, two rats, and a flock of eleven chickens who keep the whole family laughing.  She is passionate about fitness and prioritizes staying active daily through yoga, weightlifting, CrossFit, and long weekend walks. A fun fact: she is also an avid pool player and has competed at the national level.
